What is the real deal on HB-102 set JB and jazz copies?

I have a Ibanez Artcore hollow bady (cheap i know but have to make do with what the funds will allow) and i want to upgrade the pickups to a better sound (again what the funds will allow). Will the hb-102 set work well with the hollow body setup and do they sound good enough for gigging? What do you think of the HB-102 set as a whole? I know that they aren't the best just want to get a good idea about them.

welcome to the forum!!

it would be a good choice for the neck and a good choice in the bridge if you like a little hotter bridge pup. its based on a jb/jazz set which ive heard in 335 style guitars sounding very nice, i think they would be fine for gigging

i have a 102 in the bridge of one of my guitars. great pup. sounds very close to a real JB.

My only beef with any of the Duncan Designed series is the inconsistency. I've heard 102Bs that sound exactly like JBs, and some that very, VERY much don't.
