What is wrong with this picture?

Re: What is wrong with this picture?

It looks like SD finally caved and gave us philips height adjustment screws.

Re: What is wrong with this picture?

Well, other than how they seem to have cloned the "other SD acronym"....

"Made in Korea" also seems to be a lie, dear China Post

Otoh, this Chinese innovation of including pre-installed pickup rings seems kinda nice??

Just like those Chinese garbage guitars that says Gibson. Personally, I dont know why we ever let them start making our stuff. We had plenty enough before. Were's our law enforcement? Why arent they protecting American IPs?

Why aren't they protecting American IPs?

The big thing here is not the loss of revenue, though it matters. More dangerous is the loss of reputation. Someone buys these pickups and doesn't like them. From there on in anywhere they see SD pickups mentioned online their reply is "I installed Seymour Duncan pickups in my guitar and they sucked". Even though they never really ever tried the product. And that is the really sad thing the bootlegger is robbing the buyer of a great experience, with a great pickup.

It's bad on so many levels. These companies are blatantly stealing. Filth of humanity

Re: What is wrong with this picture?

I put Seymour Duncan pickups in my guitar for less than 20 bucks! Why do you guys spend so much for them? Yeah, and they shipped them in 19-39 days, how's that for service?

Re: What is wrong with this picture?

When did SD start making their pups in Korea and ship them from China (with such sloppy coil tape)?

Re: What is wrong with this picture?

I would imagine that this sort of thing is difficult and expensive to fight. This company isn't even trying to make it look like a genuine thing. I can imagine what other products they slap a logo on and pass off as something genuine.

Re: What is wrong with this picture?

Seems like this is more for guitar resale scams or maybe amazon pickup return scams...

Re: What is wrong with this picture?

Probably find the exact same set being sold out of a panel van with "Free Candy" spray painted on the sides.

Expensive to fight? What, threaten to shut down these sites? Isnt that in their job description? I see it everytime I watch a vid

Re: What is wrong with this picture?

Servers in a non-friendly country aren't that easy to shut down. You can threaten that what they are doing is against the law, but if they don't recognize your laws, then it becomes...expensive to do much more.
