My fav fuzz...it all depends on what sstyle of fuzz tones Im looking at the time!

I am partial to Big Muff's I like the Fulltone Ultimate Octave, the old Foxx tone machines are cool as are the old Jordan Bosstones, Im aslo a fan of fuzz Face type units (when used correctly), my roger mayer Axis Fuzz is GREAT for the later Hendrix type tones...it all depends.

As for which ones clean up the best...thats not really a fuzz tones strong suite but it can be done...that said it depends a lot on how much fuzz you have dialed in and how hot your pickups are...

Man, i would love to get my hands on an old Jordan Bosstone !!!

Yay, i love talking about my fuzz pedal, i love it, Demeter Amplification Fuzzulator. Cant go wrong with it. From a clean boost OD sound to a ballsy hendrix sound to a screaming punk sound. i use all the knobs on 6 for a good santana sound.

Double Muff is sweet...tried a Metal Muff and thought it was sweet too. I dunno it seems like distortion pedals are all pretty good as long as they don't say DOD on them.

How so? Was it too noisy, too gritty, too tame?

I have found Electroharmonix stuff to be too noisy...too much shhhhhhhhh in the background.

Analogman Sunface (Both the BC109 and NKT275 versions)
Foxrox Hot Silicon card for my CC2
Skreddy Mayo

Those are the ultimate Ge FF, Si FF and Big Muffs it seems. I'm always a sucker for tryinf new fuzzes though.

i havn't tried many... that being said, my favorite is the S.D. Tweak Fuzz

The DOD sounds very cheap and artifisial (sp?).

Be aware that the Double Muff is slightly cheapishly made. And the paint scratches off if you look at it too hard, and the unit insists on being first in the chain. Why i dunno, but is sounds like thin buttocks ANYWHERE else in the chain.

I think "musical" is a bad term to describe any effect. Do you mean it inspires music and melody? Or is your fuzz factory self oscillating to a pitch!
