Re: What Overdrive Pedal are you using?

My G2D has the old 'goo copyright' as well. A pedal-fiend friend of mine knows a tech who can safely remove the goo, though. He's had it done on this obscure fuzz he found so it can be replicated...
Yeah, I have visions of some pedal nerd digging the circuit out with an exacto knife, just to find the values of each component. I'm sure a few Klons,
Fulldrives, and G2D's have been destroyed, trying to uncover the circuit.
Banzai has been accused of stealing the Klon's circuit for their Coldfusion.
I've had them next to each other and they have the same style, but different tones. The Klon is smooth and singing, while the Coldfusion is fat and crunchy. The secret to those pedals is that the gain pot is a stacked pot,
so the OD is overdriving two different parts of the circuit at once, then summing to the output. That's what gives some of these SS pedals that tube tone.
By the way...Has anyone bought one of those Aramat pedals I keep seeing on Ebay? Like the Green Machine? The most interesting OD pedal I've seen lately, and want, is made by a Japanese designer called the Tacky Drive.
They cost $300, but look like the most awesome OD I've ever seen.
