What pedal should SD come out with next?

Re: What pedal should SD come out with next?

Can an analog reverb be striped down to a pedal format and still sound good and not being crazy expensive? If so then maybe they can try this. And maybe a Vibe?

Re: What pedal should SD come out with next?

I've had this admittedly dumb idea for a while now that I've never seen before.

You know how some people like to switch on a wah pedal and then leave it set to a certain position to get unique notched tones while playing? There are pedals like the Cock Fight or Atomic Cock which work like a traditional pedal and you twist knobs to set the notched frequency you want, but then you can't use it as an actual wah pedal. Likewise you have normal wahs that can be tricky to set into the right frequency and even harder to keep them there when you want them to stay still, especially if you like the pedal to have a loose and fast feel.

So how about a wah pedal with a kind of locking feature? I'm thinking something you can kick or click on/off with your feet to either lock the wah in place or make it so that it can move forward in locked sections. For example: you can use it like a traditional wah, then you kick a kind of switch in and suddenly the pedal becomes reluctant to move, and the switch to turn it on/off could be on the side like a Morely or Fulltone, so you can preset the angle of the wah and turn it on and off as needed without having to push the pedal toe down to turn it on and off like traditional Cry Baby's. Potentially, while the lock is engaged, it would be cool to still be able to adjust the angle.

If you've ever heard of the tonestyler pot, it could work similarly to that where it clicks at different settings and it is not a smooth roll for more accurate fine tuning. This could help people who need to switch cocked wah sounds on the fly with minimal hassle and without the probability of the wah budging or falling when you want it to stand still. Hell it may even be a cool sound to have a wah pedal that has a cranking/clicking sweep when moving it back and forth while playing, but that wouldn't be the intent.

I'm not an engineer so I have no idea how to make that work, and I don't know if a demand exists for something like that (hence me thinking it's kind of dumb), but it may be a nice middle ground and convenient addition for people that use a wah both in the traditional way and the people that like to experiment with leaving it cocked at a particular angle or two but don't want to hassle much or play a guessing game with the angle. Not so much a new pedal idea but something I think would be a cool feature should SD throw their hat in the wah game, assuming it's possible.

A reverb where the knobs adjust the size parameters of the "room" you're in. One knob making the knob wider/narrower, another longer/shallower, maybe another for height. Maybe even adjustment over how hard/soft the walls are.

I'm waiting for the Seymour Duncan Talent Boost. Comes with Beck as a factory setting, then you can download others in sets of three, like Tuck, Dimeola, Tedesco; Gilmour, Clapton, Halen; or Frehley, Angus, Rhoads; Santana, Hendrix, Bloomfield; whatever, make up your own...

Actually I think there is something not so difficult that I think can be very useful for a lot of people, I don't know, you let me know your opinion:

A 2 loop switcher with an amp output for channel selection, think of a Boss LS-2 but with an additional output to make your amp switch channels. You could put it in the FX loop so when stomp and engage loop 1 with whatever you like for clean tones like modulation and delay the amp control output swsitches the amp to clean channel, similarly when you stomp again it engages loop 2 with whatever you crunch or lead tones like reverb, clean boost, graphic EQ, etc. I mean, it should not be an expensive devise as i think for many guys out there things like the Boss ES-5 is still too expensive and does a lot of things I don't really need.

Ain't there something like this already?

Wth having released a wonderful sounding chorus, I think a quality flanger could be next

EQ pedal. IMO by far the biggest tone bang in the chain between guitar and amp. Duncan has the pickup booster as a great platform to build on. Easy as a Chicago Pie, take the booster add some caps, xstrs, a diode or two and some slick new band controls = EQ supreme.

Re: What pedal should SD come out with next?

a one/two knob reverb like the Boing. with a mode switch for room, hall, spring, and plate modes.

Re: What pedal should SD come out with next?

I want an ultra-streamlined "lead sweetener". Basically a clean and tight single-mode digital delay with a very subtle fixed chorus mod button either on/off.
No tap tempo or loop, no need for separate levels or coloring, just four knobs dedicated to the one-mode digital delay. Level, Feedback, Time, Tone(of repeats).
Or skip the repeats tone and go three-knob.

I would like to see a Midi controlled version of the Boss LS-2 with invert phase option.

The Boss LS-2 is known for being the Swiss army pedal for wet/dry blender. Very useful for Bass when you want a clean unnaffected low end.

Must Have:
Compressor/Sustainer similar to the Pigtronix Philosephers Tone, but micro with emphasis on SUSTAIN.
9 Volt battery friendly, but powered if needed, and please true bypass.
I need one. Boss and Pigtronix seem to make the only good ones (that I know) but the sustain element could be such a life saver. I hate using volume to get a feedback loop, by necessity, you gotta crank it with a boost or dirt pedal or both.
My humble opinion

I tried to go where your page took me but would not take my password, which
I tried a couple times, it's easy, and my email is impossible for me to forget, so I did try to play by the rules.
Steve Buffington. Now, how 'bout that pedal? Call it the BuffessorStevestainer. (Please, no dirty underwear jokes, unless they are good ones)

Except for being analogue, not digital, you pretty much just described the Carbon Copy.
