Re: What Pick and why?
I've used Fender's Heavy or Extra Heavy 346 shape (rounded triangle) in celluloid for the last 25 years. At the time, I was being heavily influenced by Carlos Santana, and he was using a huge triangle pick at the time. I couldn't find any of those (though I did use them for a period of time in the 80's) at the time and these were the biggest that I could get ahold of. I grew to like the feel of them and developed a tendency to slide the pick down the strings prior to starting a solo. These picks are the only ones that will let me do that and sound a certain way. I need them to kind of be eaten up by the string on the way down, so it kind of lent itself to a certain style.
