What pickup combo is the best for Hank Marvin (The Shadows) sound?

Do you guys think if it is possible to come up with such a pickup combination (with S1 or any other switch combo) on a Fender Strat (HH or HSS or HSH) that in one position it can produce
1.) the Hank Marvin (The Shadows) sound
and in another position it can do
2.) B. B. King or similar blues sound?

In case you haven't heard of The Shadows yet, you can listen to samples of their best hits here: http://www.theshadowsofficial.com/player.html
or here is their official website: http://www.theshadowsofficial.com

Of course I know, that these two guys play completely different style and guitar (62 Strat vs. Gibson Lucille), so I wouldn't be surprised if all of you would just say that I should have two guitars, but if anybody has any other idea, I'd like to know.

DO u have a VOx AC30 i think that contributed to a lot of their sound.

BB king......humbucker in neck

Shadows....single coil....maybe put them in the bridge and middle of your strat

As above poster said, a nice amp would help, with good reverb

I'm pretty sure that you would want a3 Strat pickups for Marvin. Bare Knuckle and Lindy Fralin make a3 Strat pickups.

bareknuckle apache pups............

Sounds like you'ld need a good working tremolo. The amplitude-modulated kind on an amp. Not a wammy bar. :)

Hank uses kinman noiseless :S

I'd go for a 59N (for the BB KIng tone) and JB with a new Duncan Stack Plus in the middle...and a mini switch to split the 59N and JB humbuckers.

Really, you need to decide which tone is most important.

You'll not get a true Strat pickup sound by splitting a humbucker...nor will you get a true BB King humbucker tone from a single coil.

So if BB's tone is most important, go for the 59N and JB with a Duncan Classic Stack Plus in the middle and split the humbuckers when you want more of a Stratty tone

If Hank's tone is most important than go for a pair of Duncan Stack Plus pickups and a JB in the bridge and split the JB when you want it to sound more Stratty.

The reason I'm suggesting the JB is that it sounds great split as a single coil and great as a humbucker.

Thanks guys for your ideas, after reading all of them, a few questioned popped in my mind:
Has someone actually had a chance to compare SD Stack Plus with Kinman noiseless?

Lewguitar: First I liked larry emder's idea: humbucker for the neck pup to get the softer/but thicker BB King sound and leave the the two singles for the bridge and the middle, since the Shadows sound is sharp, snappy but clear.
I am not familar with the 2005-6 year American Stratocaster pups (yet), do they worth anything? (If I won't be happy with the existing pups I will definately will get one of the good quality noiseless single pups.)
So, back to my question: Lewguitar, what is your opinion about larry emder's idea? (I am not saying, that I don't like your idea's, I just would like to know why larry's idea is not ideal if that's the case, that's all.:)
