Jerry also depends on an Aura modeling pedal.I agree. A P90 or a humbucker would not work well. I would prefer a microphone any day for a resonator, but in a live situation this is rather difficult. Although, Jerry Douglas frequently uses a large diaphragm condenser in live Bluegrass shows, I'd hate to be his sound guy. Everyone, I know who uses a pickup on a resonator or banjo uses an eq pedal to tame the biting highs.
