What pickups for my Les Paul?

Hey everyone,

I've got a Gibson Les Paul special humbucker version. It Plays really well but is definately lacking in tone. It takes a while to get a decent sound out of, the pickups are quite dark sounding compared to other guitars and are just bland.

I was thinking i'd get some pearly gates because its the sizzle im looking for. Will they be bright enough and also have respectable cleans? I need pickups to be able to cover a spectrum of genres and have a bit more raw umph with od.

If theres anything else out there which people would recommend instead of the pearly's let us know. :)

Cheers!!

Ant.

I'm a PG fan. They have just enough spunk to add a little extra something. The upper mids will add some sparkel/presence to the tone. It takes just a small volume tweek to clean it up. In the neck it's one of my favorites overall. I'd say I'd almost always use it there instead of a 59. I doubt you'll be sorry - go for it!

Unless the Texas Zhangbucker with mismatched coils is available!
