What pickups sound interesting to you but you have yet to try?

As far as Duncans go, I think I'd like to get my hands on a set of Black Winters and maybe a PATB-3. Outside of this sandbox, I'm intrigued by Bareknuckles.

I've gone through 59s, A2Pros, Jazz, Custom with all the production magnet types, JB, Distortion, PATB-1, Fuglybucker, Crazy 8, and original Blackouts. I may be forgetting one or two, but I think I have a pretty good sense of what SD has available in humbucker format. Oh, and I have a set of Phat Cats. i've said before, though, that I feel pretty much set on pickups these days.

What interests you that you've been unable to try?

BKP Painkiller

BKP Stockholm and Pig 90

Black Winter (played briefly but never in my own guitars)

59/C hybrid

JB and Nazgul Rails

SD "Nagus" (Axe Palace custom model)

Motor City Afwayu and Solution

Fishman Fluence Classic (unwilling to buy these and reconfigure my guitars, but I disliked the compression of the Moderns and want to see how they compare)

Elysian Hellfire

Zephyr Silver, just for fun

I'd be interested to play with those Zephyr pickups just to see if there's anything special about them. PATB-3 and singles look cool, but haven't had a chance to play them yet. While I have enjoyed playing firebird pickups in a few instances in the past, I haven't been able to compare the SD offerings with one another.

At the moment, nothing really. But till recently i was intrigued by pearly gates for many years and just somehow never tried them. Then recently i did and it was a bit of a strange journey in that i wasn't thrilled at first because they went into a overly bright LP and i felt they were too bright and seemed to lack any sort of compression even with a good deal of gain. That turned out to be the guitar, and then i put them in a normal sounding LP and after a time i seemed to have hit the right bridge pickup height and i began to love them. Then i got a new LP just a week or so ago with classic 57s in it and thought they were uninspiring. So i tried the PG set in that and my god it was like I got ahold of Tenacious D's pick of destiny. All hell broke loose in a very good way. the difference was nite and day. I hear some saying they are too bright or such, but i now find they sound like a killer set of very rich sounding PAFs that if too bright can be successfully tamed with amp settings. I should say i was always fond of the neck right from the start even in that first P i put them in. It was the bridge that took a while to see what it was capable of. Great set, but like any set they must be in a guitar that is a good match for them.

So at first i was sorta disappointed but shortly i realized they WERE what i thought they were gonna be.

Very intrigued by the Phat Cat Silencers for the semihollow I want to buy next. Other than that, I'm not hankering after pickups too much these days. If I get another metal-oriented guitar, I'll likely just put Black Winters or Nazgul-Sentient (or Nazgul-Jazz) into that guitar, since I know and love all those pickups and I'm familiar with what I'm going to get.

really wanna try the hades gates and slash 2.0 pups. also theres some custom shop offerings that look nice

I haven't tried any of the 8 types. Alt-8, C8, JB8 whatever (is there a 59/8? Did anyone try that?). I also have but haven't installed my PATBs and a TwangBanger. I also have an Antiquity II Tele set I need to try. I also have an Antiquity P-90 set and a P-Rails set I've never tried.

misterwhizzy I'd consider selling you my Black Winters and PATB-3. I'm not using them. I've used the Winters, great all around pickups. I never got round to installing the PATBs because they need a different ring or direct mount.

Hades Gates sounds like it might be an improvement on the Pearlys. Would like to try.

I want to try the Hendrix set vs the Psychedelic set, but at some point, a Strat is a Strat. I don't know if it really matters the less than 0.5k difference here and there. I think the wire might be different, but again, can I hear that? Haven't been curious enough to cough up the coin for two sets and installing them.

Also want to try the Paisley Secret Agent. Would be cool to have an Esquire-looking Tele with some extra toanz under the hood.

The Lari Basilio set I really want to try in my Jackson.

Someday, I want to try all the 'ultimate' PAF Mt. Rushmore pickups: ThroBak PAFs, Lollar Imperials, SD Queenbucker, Wizz PAF, Bare Knuckle Mules, Cream T Whisker Buckers, ReWind Creme Brulee, SD Green Magic, SD Antiquities, Tyson Tone PAF, Ron Ellis PAF, Fralin Pure PAF, etc.

I love trying new stuff, but I'm still pretty impressed with Bill Lawrence stuff and Lace Sensors.
Love Fender's Noiseless series of pickups.

The surprise is cheap Asian stuff is getting so good. Some of the Artec offerings sound great.
They make a lot of Trev Wilkinson's stuff (and he knows his shit), so maybe they are getting lessons from him.

There's a whole lot of Custom Shop humbuckers I'd love to try. I don't really have any more guitars that need pickups, though, so that's the issue.

I am very interested in trying the Black Winter rails, but I don't know which guitar I would put them in. I am very happy with the pickups in all of my guitars.

I've got a Stag Mag that I recently picked up (see what I did there?) but haven't found a guitar to put it into, guess I need another guitar!

NGL, I kinda wanna try the Nazgul Rails and the JB Rails. Not to mention the BW Rails.

I also wanna try the new Fluence Modern Open Cores. And the Devin Townsends as well.

About the only one in the production line is the '78 model neck. I've played a guitar with the bridge version years ago. There's some Custom Shop offerings I wouldn't mind trying. No real need to try anything though. I'm good with what I have.

Anything JB-related, I kinda want to try, honestly.

I've tried the regular production JB, the Antiquity JB, the Fluence Classic, the Suhr SSH+ and Aldrich, the DiMarzio AT-1, and I love them all.

I'd like to try the Thrash Factor and the Alex Skolnick.

I'm curious about the Thrash Factor too. Not just because I'm a confirmed Megadeth fan either. :D Would love to A/B test it against a regular JB and see how it compares playing Rust-era Megadeth.

I was curious bout the half rail humbucker
but i got a set and a/b 'd the rail vs the screw coil

Screw coil has a bit more mids
I could probably raise the center screws to even that out
But I kinda like em different

Was curious about an a5 Jazz and an A2 Jazz (APH1) that was interesting
Again just a bit more mids

In a mix , non of it would be noticeable
