Turns out he didn't unsolder the old ground wires completely and they were arcing, also he did a crappy job of grounding the new pickups, and it came loose. The local shop really surpassed themselves and even though they said Saturday, they got it back to me by mid-afternoon today, so I played it at our gig today. I need to raise the bridge pickup's height a bit, but otherwise, definitely an upgrade! They were a lot clearer sounding. The MIM ones were kinda harsh, but these were bright and clean sounding.
Next up, a new acoustic pickup (hopefully next week) and then a pair of TV Jones for my 5120.
