I have 3 LPs, 2 w/ SD Distortions(bridge), and the other a SD JB(bridge). What do you guys use?

Cheers Primo.

Swap out one of the LP's with a Distortion bridge, and try a Custom or C-5.
Same hotness, but a bit fatter.

The Rectos are a strange breed. At first take, they seem to make everything sound like a Recto. At high gain it seems like the amp is taking over. But pickups really do matter a lot with a Recto. My standards with Boogies (rectos and MKs) have always been higher output screamers in the bridge, because too much low end at the guitar and the Boogies can mud out. The pickup can have good lows, as long as the mids and highs can compete with it, too. The PRS HFS is a perfect example. It has the thick low end, but it still pushes the Boogies to scream with its mids and highs. Whereas a Tone Zone or Super Distortion/Super 3 is a mismatch IMO. But the Steves Special is great with a Recto.

For the neck its whatever you like. The Boogies do great with a fat PRS neck pickup, a strat single coil, and anything vintage in bewteen. With a recto I would be more inclined to use a vintage humbucker, though. The thick gain sound is great with the sharp attack of a good PAF, rather than the nasally Air Norton/PAF Pro. But thats me.
