Are you only playing a certain scale length on your guitars? I've noticed that while many of my favorite players use different axes, they usually are all the same scale length.

I like both, not really for playing different things but more like in what mood I'm in.

I have a 24.75" right now, but both the one I'm currently building and the next will be 25.5".

Same for me. I have an Epiphone Les Paul (24.75), I'm building a Strat (25.5) and after that I'm going to buy a Jackson or Charvel (25.5).
Does anyone use a 25" scale here? I've heard it's a good length.

Re: What Scale Length Do You Play?

I own guitars with:
24.75"
25"
25.5"

All serve different and exciting purposes ;)

Re: What Scale Length Do You Play?

I like 25.5 better than anything.

Well, I actually like 34. But that's missing a couple of strings...

Re: What Scale Length Do You Play?

I only have 25.5, but everything works.

Re: What Scale Length Do You Play?

i like 25.5 best by far but i have a gibson scale guitar thats nice. in general i think the clarity and note seperation is better on longer scales. its harder to get a tight and clear note on the first three frets of the e string with shorter scale lengths

Re: What Scale Length Do You Play?

I have three guitars...and all are different scale lenghts.

1) Strat 25.5
2) Strat 25.1
3) LP 24.75

One of these days I'd like to get ahold of a 24" scale Jagstang....I've only had one chance to play one, and it was a truly messy sounding guitar.

Re: What Scale Length Do You Play?

two 24" (musicmaster & jaguar)
two 24.75 (LP & SG)
one 25.5 tele, but i'm getting a new neck, and i'm probably going to make that a 24.75 scale conversion.

but my acoustics are long scale too.
