I'm currently playing a Schecter S1 Elite with Duncan Design H-101 pick-ups. The type of music i'm playing is a modern alternative, where most parts use distortion and there are some clean parts in the songs also. The pick-ups i have now sound awesome but i often get a lot of feedback when on a distortion channel, so i have to angle a certain way, etc. On my Ibanez RG, didn't have the feedback problem but it doesn't sound as good as my Schector. So which pick-ups do you all recommend? I have been eye-ballin the SH-13 Dimebuckers, but haven't got a chance to play on a guitar with them. thx

I'm not sure I know, but I'll give you a bump up to the top. You might mention what kind of pup is in the Ibanez. Also, do you have your gain all the way up with a distortion pedal in front? That would be a prescription for feedback with anything.
My guess is that it's not a pickup problem, but that's just a guess. I'll let some others respond.

The HB-101 is basically the 'cheaper' version of the 59 humbucker. If you really like them, try a set of 59s in neck and bridge. If you want more output in the bridge, look into the Custom or the Custom-5 (C5), which are very similar to the 59. Check out the sound clips of the humbuckers on the main site, see what you like, and ask around again about them. We'll still be here!

i have schecters with JBs and C-5s in the bridge and love both of them. very different sounds though. depends on what your after

They must have changed the S1 Elite. The Schecter site says HB 102's which is the JB Jazz combo. Did you get the vintage with pickup covers? or the black cherry. Schecter emailed me back saying both were HB 102's. So maybe Musicians friend or somebody misprinted. Or maybe they changed it. A better question for everybody to ask you would be what music are you playing and what tones are you looking for.
