Re: What size picks do you use?
I use Dunlop Tortex orange and yellow most of the time (60-Orange, .73-Yellow).
I'll use a few other picks if I am trying to force a certain sound but other wise these do the bulk of it for me, I actually use orange the most. The have a nice snap especially for rhythm playing and I break far less strings than I used to. I hit the strings fairly hard if I use anything much heavier I snap strings left and right. When I play bass I use the yellows, the orange aren't really strong enough to get the attack I like on bass strings.
I loved some old tortoise shell picks I had but replacing them is illegal in the US. I certainly can live with the tortex, I don't need to have any turtles killed for my sake - plus my little girl wouldn't likely speak to me again, she loves turtles.
