What Tele bridge pickup could stand up to a neck position Phat Cat?

The header says it all. Well almost all. I'd like the bridge pup to sound more or less like you'd expect a Tele bridge pickup to sound. Maybe leaning a bit towards P-90dom itself, but still identifyably Tele. Doesn't have to be SD. DOES need to be single coil, as I'd like to have decent hum cancellation when the two are combined.

Also, for bonus points, give me a Strat pickup that i could put in-between a Phat Cat and the above Tele bridge pup that a) sounds more or less stratty b) is itself hum-cancelling and c)is loud enough to make some sonic difference when if all three pickups are on at once

QP bridge. About as close to P90 as you're going to get out of a Tele bridge.

QP would certainly be my obvious choice if I were only choosing from among SD's offerings. But I wonder about other pickups out there, such as the Wolftone Bitch and Rabid Bitch. The Phat Cat has an a resistance of 7.9Ohms, I believe. So I'd want a bridge pickup with something in the neighborhood of 9-10 Ohms to balance, no? The QP is way above that, but all the other Tele bridge pups are below that mark. The Rabid Bitch is way up there too (around 15 Ohms) but the Bitch can be had anywhere from 7.5 to 10. ..

Only problem: I've never HEARD those pickups, much less played them.

I have two Phatcats in my tele now, but before I re-routed it I had a 5-2 in the bridge and it was awesome. That's the best tele pickup that I've ever heard. I had to take it out, though, since for my band I needed something dirtier.

It could be said that I'm partial to the QP Tele, but that's because I think it's the best Tele pickup available on the market at this time. There are other Tele pickups that sound good however. Joe Barden made amazing sounding pups, as did Lindy Fralin. Duncan also makes a Hot Tele Lead Stack, which is a humbucking pickup, but still seems to capture a lot of Tele vibe. If its just high ohms that you're going for, have Duncan make you a BG1400, which I think is over 14 ohms (the exact figure escapes me).

I have a Jerry Donahue Tele lead paired with a Phat Cat neck in a Tele. Since the JD is alnico 2, it can be raised quite close to the strings to balance well with the output of the PC. Raising the JD close also beefs it up for a better tonal match -- makes for a great combination, still sounds like a Tele (albeit a beefier one), and it is hum-canceling in the middle switch position. I also have an STL-2 Hot Tele lead paired with a HB neck pickup that is hotter than the PC, so I know the Hot Tele lead will work well, too. I think it would also be hum-canceling, but I'm not sure.

I am just putting in a QP to match a Cat in a Tele neck. I have the BG1400 but the BG just blows it out of the water.

I'd recommend the Tele Hot or Quarter Pound. I'd get the Tapped version as the tapped output gets a clearer tone for rythym. Lew
