u push the floyd or any trem way low.. pitch lowers... hence the name divebomb, EVH does it alot, alon with tons of otehr ppl..

yup, just trem, but the point there is it dont go outta tune with a locking, and itd be waaaay outta whack with a normal one

lol yea, i can see y ppl have strayed away from floyds, dont get me wrong theyre great, but a hassle, but id still go for one, jsut on one guitar tho, not all of em

lol yea, i can see y ppl have strayed away from floyds, dont get me wrong theyre great, but a hassle, but id still go for one, jsut on one guitar tho, not all of em

A blocked floyd is a great thing if you plan on keeping a guitar in one tuning

I've got one of my guitars with a floyd locked into Drop D tuning, it's always ready to go, and the bridge is solid as a rock.

bigsby > floyds > everybody & everything

The only thing a Bigsby will do that a Floyd won't is knock the guitar out of tune.

Have two Floyd guitars, no hassle but I am an old user, 19 years now and counting.
Good divebombs is still a fun thing here

yea but still, theres the nut, and thatd be a pain to undo the clamps to change a tuning then back again

You don't wanna have a floating-Floyd guitar as your "alternate tunings" guitar. When you use a different tuning or guage of strings, there's some work that goes into getting it setup.

However, they're way more fun than Floyd-less guitars, so get one

I have to agree, my main guitar for a couple years was a Jackson Randy Rhoads with a Floyd Rose, and someday I'm gonna have a Fender HM strat with a Kahler Spider tremelo.

woo, dive bomb! my first "good" electric guitar was an Ibanez RG (which has a floyd...)
first set up! TOOK ME FOUR HOURS!!! oh well, labour of love i guess... to those of you doubtfull of buying one,,, get one! after a few times etting it up its so simple...
