A guitar store by me always has tons of parts. A couple times a year they throw a bunch of them together into somewhat playable guitars to sell them off. (They sell lots more complete guitars than parts) I bet this is something comparable-someone had a hacked-up Roadstar body with a bad neck, and a Lotus plywood POS (but with a usable neck) and just combined them. Lots of my friends growing up started with Lotus guitars, if they didn't get a Hondo-same bottom-of-the-barrel import copy guitar. I'd get any Strat-style neck you like, go HERE http://pickguards.us/priceibanez.html and get a new guard made, and have a great playing franken-Ibby. Or just sell what you got now and let someone else do the same thing. (But lose the Lotus neck, really they sucked in the 80s and being 30 years old isn't helping them any now)

Well I've been keeping an eye out on ebay for a neck, it's been some time now and I'm starting to get slightly discouraged. Seems like the maple ones just don't come up as often as the ones with rosewood boards and locking nuts.

The body is definitely veneered, I have no clue what wood it's actually made out of. That said, I dig the looks of it.

From the pic its seems like the Middle pup is connected to the toggle.

thought i was the only one.. blade switch looks like a 3 way and the toggle was to turn on the middle../ after closer examination.. I think i am correct.. no middle pup leads go to the blade.. the hot fropm the blade does go to the toggle as well.. perhaps to have the option of having all 3 pups on at once

Check the neck heel dimensions,you may be able to get one from GFS for stupid cheap...

The toggle turns the bridge pickup parallel to itself. In effect, makes it brighter.

Looks like the toggle turns the middle pup on or off.

Yup... that's a phase switch, not a tap.

Roadstar body (looks like maybe Koa veneer over alder?), Lotus Neck... neck & middle pickups may be original, try 'em out, see how you like 'em first.

No, not a phase. It's on/off for mid pup.

Sorry guys, but the switch is wired to change phase - there are two red jumpers going to the opposing legs. The leads come from the middle pickup, then the output (yellow wire) goes to the pickup selector switch. Look at the 5th and 8th pictures.

Still need a neck? You can get them a bit cheaper, but not much. This one is in better shape than normal.
