What to do with my Les Paul?

Re: What to do with my Les Paul?

Get the Strat.

Then get a Tele.

Then get a 335.

I played a party last saturday night and took a LP, a Strat, a Tele, a Jazz bass and an Ovation acoustic, had all the bases covered. Personally I like the variety so thats what I did. Had a Strat, bought a LP to round things out.

Just be warned, a Strat is not a good backup guitar for a LP in a gigging situation. They are far too different tonally (unless you go S/S/H) to back each other up.
In gigging situations I always back up my #1 LP with another LP.

Re: What to do with my Les Paul?

thanks for the advice, Robert since I don't play heavy metal or anything that demands humbuckers at gigs, usely like blind melon-zeppelin-deep purple type music, backing my LP with a strat I don't think would be that bad. plus I've been druling over a shell pink 60s reissue strat. plus hendrix use to substitute flying vs for strats at his leisure

I would love to do that but unfortunately my pocket change publix paychecks and nagging mom would make that very hard. to say the least.
but I would like to try to get a decent arsenal before I have to go to college or pay bills that is if I don't start a rock revolution, make a platinium album and illegally date the olsen twins at the same time............
