I have a new Am Dlx Tele HH loaded with DFH-1 Fender humbuckers. The p/ups sound good in the middle position with the S-1 switch (coil split) up or down. However, in the neck position the sound is too muddy with the S-1 switch in either position.
I have been thinking of loading this guitar with a Jazz in the neck and a Pearly Gates in the bridge in order to give me a guitar with moderate output, good clean tone and good overdrive crunch.
I am second guitar (usually rhythm with the occasional lead) in a band playing 60's to 90's pop/rock, so I need a versatile wide-range set up. Will this combination of p/ups work for this application?
Thanks!
