what tubes??

well recently i changed 1 pre amp tube and the sound changed quite a bit( in a good way) now i wanna replace all my pre amp and power tubes, whats the best option i can go with? its a mesa single recto series one, it only takes L6L's in the power section and im not sure in the pre amp! i want high gain tubes ! any help would be greatly appreciated ! thanks!

Go with JJ tubes for that rig. They're grrrreat! :smokin:

I'm LOVING the JJ 6L6's and hi-gain graded 12AX7's in my new 5150, and loved the JJ powertubes in my Recto.

my friend likes JJ power tubes and a variety of preamp tubes in his recto. pretty sure it was a tung-sol that he was happy with

Check out the high gain preamp tube shootout in the vault for some info. For high gain tubes I like the chinese 12a7xc, for warmer distortion, sovtex lps for some tight distortion.
