What type of pickups/producrs do you think the SD line is missing?

Re: What type of pickups/producrs do you think the SD line is missing?

I'd like to see some full size buckers w/ rails other than the chainsaw er I mean dimebucker. Preferably a matched bridge/neck set. High output of course.

+100!! ROTFLMAO BTW!

Re: What type of pickups/producrs do you think the SD line is missing?

A 10K PAF. I definitely would love to see the Brobucker as a standard item.

And

What Lew said (but with a5 magnet rods :D ).

B [Peace]

+10 or whatever you want to that..besides that I would also like that Strat single coil pup we were discusing about as a forum pup.

Re: What type of pickups/producrs do you think the SD line is missing?

The PATB2 is ceramic, but I didn't realize that the PATB1 had rolled off highs.

Yeah, the PATB's are made specially to do the task you are looking for. They are WONDERFUL pickups and dont let the tone chart fool you. Try one out and you will see the magic of them.

I wonder what a PATB-2 with a A8 or A5 would be like. Daemon, you care to experiment?

Re: What type of pickups/producrs do you think the SD line is missing?

I think the Stag Mag covers that base.

I'd like to see a "rail" version of the Phat Cat. Also, I'd like to see them offer the black cover that they make on the Benedetto A6 available as an option on all the covered pups. Especially since they already make it. Nothing new to do in production except grab some covers out of the bin.

A Phat Rail would be cool.

However, to me the Stag Mag does NOT cover the base I described. I don't know if it was in reference to me or the other guy, so if it's not to me, I apologize.

However, I'm talking in terms of output. I want a humbucker, yes, and I do not want pole pieces, I want a bar magnet. However, I'd like the output of the humbucker versus one split coil to be equivalent, so that there's no drop in output. That's all I want. This would probably mean that it needs to be like a JB but each coil side is tappable: so you can have low output humbucker, and then it un-taps the coil you select when it splits. This would be, if anything, more of a wiring job than the humbucker itself, necessarily, but still...

Re: What type of pickups/producrs do you think the SD line is missing?

I think that the single coil line is missing a 10k pickup worst then the humbuckers.

- Alnico 2, 10k, tapped to 6.6k. Made with and without a baseplate, could be used as a set, a bridge to lower output pups and in a set with the Quarter Pounders or other hot pups.

I liked my own idea so much I had to bump it... I'm narcissistic - so what? :cool2:

Edit:
It is inspired by Lew's and Stratdeluxr's ideas...

I'm still narcissistic... if you're wondering.

Re: What type of pickups/producrs do you think the SD line is missing?

how about a quick connect/disconnect like EMG has? No more soder just connect your new duncan in and go.

Re: What type of pickups/producrs do you think the SD line is missing?

Also, a Jazz set that has a normal Jazz neck and a 10k wound Jazz bridge would be cool.

And some Alnico 2 single coils that are wound right at the point where they make a traditional tube amp start to break up, like as an Alnico II Pro Staggered set, with output low at neck (maybe 7k), medium at middle (maybe 8k), and hot at bridge (maybe 9k).

This is from my experience playing the Hot Rodded set and the Alnico II Pro Staggered set.

Nah, that is just for hacks. We will let EMG keep the hacks. :)

The Jazz bridge is outstanding but, that idea is making me slobber. Might have to call MJ????

That is the smartest thing you have ever said on the SDUGF! LOL!!!!!

Thanks. However, I reserve the right for it to be named after me, since I've already been discussing this with MJ and Alex for a while :D Now to think of a cool name to call it lol :banghead:

How about the spazbucker? :D

The name isnt important, its the tone that is important. :):friday:

Re: What type of pickups/producrs do you think the SD line is missing?

So a 10K Jazz with PATB bobins is next? ;)

...how do you know that may not be a PATB-3? Or much like a PATB-3? Hey, I have a PATB-3 coil laying around and I want to get a jazz B trembucker to hybrid them. My most 2 favorite pickups in a hybrid. Sounds great on paper.

I know :D Anyways, I'm thinking either the RADbucker or the artbucker. I don't know which. I'll have to wait until I have the money to do this though, unfortunately....

Why not just call it the "Sean Pen" bucker then? (Fast times at ridgemont high reference)

Re: What type of pickups/producrs do you think the SD line is missing?

I want a talentbucker....:D

Hey between the talentbucker, talent simulator pedal, and the talent modeling all tube amp, anyone should be able to get a record deal!

I think we're on to something here.
