What was the last pedal purchase you were totally satisfied with?

Re: What was the last pedal purchase you were totally satisfied with?

Carbon Copy. I loved my Roctron Short-Timer; the CC sounds similar, but it's in a smaller box.

The SD Vise Grip for sure. I needed a compressor and bought it without any testing solely knowing that the other SD pedals I've tried have been quality. It makes for a really beautiful compressor, clean boost and tone shaper. The mini switch on the front is amazing, I usually keep it in the 'Mid' setting to push my overdrive pedals a bit without too sharp of a top end or too wooly of a bottom end. That switch alone is what makes the pedal really special.

The MXR Carbon Copy too. It was really my second pedal purchase, and it followed me throughout my entire adult gigging life, and almost all over Europe. I've bought a bunch of other delay pedals over time and nothing has fully replaced it, I always seem to come back. It has a cool resonance to it, the way it sounds like it's always just in the verge of going into oscillation. It doesn't sound pretty and neat like a lot of analog delays do (though I like that sound too) but the unique character is what keeps it on my board after all this time.

Catalinbread Topanga. It's a digital simulation of a 1960's Fender outboard tube-driven spring reverb unit, and it's really. ****ing. Good.

I have to admit I never thought I'd see a Topanga-related post from you that was about guitar tones.

And to answer the OP, Carbon Copy. Totally Carbon Copy.

Re: What was the last pedal purchase you were totally satisfied with?

My best pedal purchases are definately my MXRs. I love the Custom Badass Modified OD, Analog Chorus, and Carbon Copy. Aside from the nice smooth yet raunchy tone of the OD, you get to control the 100k frequency and the mid boost is really nice. The analog chorus has an almost phase effect when used with a dirty sound which sounds amazing. First time I heard that my panties dropped! As someone said before me, the Carbon Copy is not a nice delay. It's a very dirty and sexy sound it has. I love it!

I just got this little guy today and I'm quite satisfied so far!!! I'm a bit of a reverb junkie and to be honest I didn't have very high hopes for it at first. The graphics are beautiful! I mean it's a sweet looking pedal but I figured they would be sorta gimmicky? You know, they put a pretty pic on the front of them so people will buy it and ignore the fact that it's not a very good reverb pedal because it looks great on their board???

Not so!!! It sounds amazing and definitely worth every penny I paid!!! I recently sold off my full sized H.O.F. & instantly regretted it! All of my amps have onboard verb except one, unfortunately it's a amp that I've been using quite often recently? I thought I could live without it on that one head but I caved the other day and bought the Polara! It's probably also worth noting that I got the pedal brand new for $99 shipped!

It was a eBay auction & $99 was the starting bid. Nobody had bid on it yet & there was only 5 minutes left before it ended so I made a $99 offer (not expecting to win) & then walked away. I feel asleep before checking it again but when I got up the next day I had a email that said I had won the auction!!!

The HOF was definitely a great reverb pedal, some of the presets were a little too "digital" for me & took some adjusting to get it right but overall it was extremely versatile and worked with every amp I owned. The tone print option was also a cool feature although I never used it.

This blows that out of the water! The two of them have a lot in common as far as controls go but I feel like I've got a lot more control over the Polara and it lets me take things a step further, no matter what I'm trying to achieve? I'm not too concerned about versatility because its just going to stay where it is (the loop of my TSA15 & maybe my DSL) but I'm going to try it with some others later just to see what it can do....

They definitely are not the Digitech's of my youth, the Lexicon tech has completely revamped them!!! Almost makes me want to buy the Obscura and give it a shot as well but I have 6 other delay pedals already so I'll probably try to sell one of them before buying something new...

The EHX lumberjack is my secret weapon. Its a cross between an OD and a fuzz and sounds totally awesome!

I never watched that show. I thought her name was Betsy.

Re: What was the last pedal purchase you were totally satisfied with?

SD pickup booster. Best pedal I have ever used. Breathes new life into single coil pickups. I have been using it with my strat and Tele. It a rich fullness to the tone and when cranked up creates warm natural overdrive.

Re: What was the last pedal purchase you were totally satisfied with?

I got a Fractal AX8, and working on getting all of my sounds programmed into it. I may never drag my tube amps to a gig again.

Re: What was the last pedal purchase you were totally satisfied with?

Yesterday I picked up a Fulltone Deja Vibe 2 from Tree Strings in Red Wing, MN which is run by our very own BrianS. I haven't had much time to play with it yet, but I've played one before and remember it being a really cool toy. Just need some time to get used to it with the amps I have here.

Re: What was the last pedal purchase you were totally satisfied with?

Three come to mind -- yeah, this is cheating:
Sonic Research ST-200 Turbo Tuner
Carbon Copy (an instant classic)
Joyo US Dream (a near-clone and a one-trick pony, but it's a great trick!)

Re: What was the last pedal purchase you were totally satisfied with?

zvex double rock. it's like having 2 boxes of rocks in one pedal!

Re: What was the last pedal purchase you were totally satisfied with?

With emphasis on "total satisfaction," most definitely the VS-XO I ordered from the U.S. without benefit of trying 2 years ago. Sweeter-sounding and more tweakable than the Route 808 + Open Road tandem it replaced. It defines my tone, and is my go to pedal. Although it is a better sounding pedal, the KOTv4 comes in second, in terms of use and satisfaction.

Haven't been as happy with other stuff I've bought since then, and don't use them as often as I do the two above. Still trying to find my sweet spots on a Blackstone Effects Mosfet OD, Fuchs Dual Plush Drive and Snouse Black Box, among others.

Re: What was the last pedal purchase you were totally satisfied with?

Wampler Tumnus - best klone I've ever personally played.

Re: What was the last pedal purchase you were totally satisfied with?

Electro-Harmonix Cock Fight.

I've purchased a few pedals this year already, but my favorite among them without questions is the JHS Muffuletta.

Wonder what would be more satisfying?? plugging the cock fight into the muffaletta or plugging it into a brown eye?

Sorry guys. it had to be said... yes, Im ashamed...

Re: What was the last pedal purchase you were totally satisfied with?

I recently got a Jerry Cantrell Wah and an OCD pedal. Very happy with both. I still am extremely dismal with my wah skills, but I like the JC 's lower freq. I started with a bad horsie. Had its good points, but dont like that you cant leave it set in a position. Then I got a vox Wah 847. Better, but had a shrill top end. I tried rolling the pot and it helped some..

Re: What was the last pedal purchase you were totally satisfied with?

The only pedal I've ever been "totally satisfied" with is a PETERSON Strobo-Stomp.

I've picked up a Mythical Overdrive Klone recently that is nearing the threshold of totally satisfied.

So you're the one ....

Mine is an exceptional tuner for intonating guitars, but not for pedal board use.
