the spinning pickup is a ginormous success! It is is tone tremolo but far more elaborate sounding. I have a few nuts to crack yet: controlling the spin speed; apogetic and parogetic stabilization; and height variation controls (this aspect has particularly interesting potential). Will post samples as soon as I get these issues a little more in line.
The ergonomic issues remain but may be reduced significantly with a simple rail system.

How I do it is a top secret, you know, like with pickup companies. If I shared this stuff then I guess bad thing would happen to me. I don't know what but I'm very superstitious that way.

Well, I applaud your inquisitiveness. But there are practical elements to be achieved. Until then, I would probably just get a good phaser and dial back the ethereal to my taste.
