What would you compare the Fulldrive with?

Re: What would you compare the Fulldrive with?

It's an overdrive in the tubescreamer vein, with a boost added.

Most tube screamers have a sharp upper mid hump, but the FDII is smoother and more natural sounding. It's also extremely versatile, because of the mini 3 way switch. You can use that switch to dial it in with certain guitars or amps.
It's a fat sounding pedal, so it doesn't thin your sound out at all. The boost can be used to add a bit more volume to the 1st channel, or it can be turned up to simulate a fuzz pedal. The 2nd channel has a lot of gain, but it's not shredder type gain, it's more Hendrixy and fuzzy.

I'd definitely recommend grabbing a 10th Ann. Mosfet version right now, while you still can. You can't lose. Pay $200, use it for as long as you like, and sell it for $250 when they're gone.

Hey, did you ever get your Klon? IMO, that's the be all end all. That's the only pedal I'd never ever sell.

I'm still waiting for the Klon to arrive.

I have an Analog Man King of Tone, and I'm wondering if the Fulldrive is similar to that. Not sure, since I've never even played through a Fulldrive.

which version of the kot do you have?

With the King of Tone and Klon, your search is finished! I'd love to get my hands on one of those. The next pedal I'm buying will be the Fulltone GT-350. Right now, I have the gold Klon Centaur, the cream Custom Shop FDII, and the T. Rex Mudhoney. The Klon sounds like I'm turning up the volume and gain on any amp I plug into. The FDII is the most versatile, and great for strat blues, and the Mudhoney is a super saturated wall of gain.

I've been debating selling my T. Rex Mudhoney, since it doesn't get used much, but everytime I use it, I realize I should hang onto it. I call it the endless sustain pedal. Adding the Mudhoney to an already overdriven amp....you can hold a note that rides on the edge of feedback infinitely. Really a unique pedal.

The Fulldrive has a dry characteristic to it. On of those pedals you can't screw up on.

Wasn't for me. Sold it for a BB preamp. The BB preamp sounded very similar but had more chord clarity and fullness...
