What would you do if....

..you had a piece of mahogany this big?

its 48" x 15" x 2"

i have plans to cut off a piece 48 inches long, 5 inches wide, for use on a neck thru LP, but i'm going to take the other remaining part, and cut it in half and glue it together to get a body blank 23" x 20" for a new Rhoads body. i remember someone saying that they'd love to have a neck thru made out of mahogany, so it wouldn't be too bright, well, it ain't that hard to do.

a piece of mahogany that big I´d easily turn into a one piece neckthru, a normal neckthru, and at least one Bolt-on neck and body, more likely 2 each (depending on burls and things that I can´t see from here)...

Of course, things bigger than a strat would make for fewer guitars, but a 1pc neckthru LP and a "standard" 3pc neckthru rhoads are easily in that board, I´d still be able to get at least a neck or 2 out of it...

it only cost $69 canadian at chester dawes home building supplies. I can't wait to get started on it!!

Building a neck-thru LP w/ the regular carved top is damn difficult.
