What would you like to see as a SD production pickup?

Re: What would you like to see as a SD production pickup?

I agree with what most said here about humbuckers. Maybe a mid range power humbucker, 10-12K, with good Mids and possibly and alnico II or V magnet. Somewhere between the 59 and the Custom, with good mids I guess. Also a JB version calibrated for the neck would be terrific.

I wonder if the Duncan folks are watching this thread.

Anyway, a few folks have already remarked on this, but I wanted to reinforce it, it would be nice to have a couple more humbuckers in the "rails" style. As far as I can tell, the Dimebucker is the only one, and its real "hot". Something to compliment the Cool Rails/Vintage Rails in an HSS configuration would be nice.

(Perhaps a "Dime" does that already.) ;)

VERY SIMPLE sell millions of records and get SD do design a pickup for yourself like the great ones do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would love to see an pickup wound to around 10-12k, voiced as a PAF, alnico II mag, and with unbalanced coils (kind of a hot PG). I think that this pickup would split the difference between the PAF class pickups and the Custom series.

What would you guys like to see?
I think it is a great Idea. something between a normal output and a high output

I am probally the only one but, I am interested in the fat cat pickups but, without the cover. Or other humbucker sized p-90s.

I wonder if they could also make it a stacked humbucker with a p-90 sound. I hate noise!!!!

Re: What would you like to see as a SD production pickup?

Duncan really needs to make pre amps to mount in a guitar instead of the muddy old tone controls. (WHO REALLY USES THEM ANYWAY) well Maybe blues and such. I would love them to make mid boosts, presence controls and the such. A guitar would be much more versitile. I have used emg pre amps in the past and I like the sounds but, I think I got a bad batch of them. It took me 3 different ones to get one that worked properly. EMGs tech support isnt great either. I think duncan makes great products and I know the reliability would be great.

I think a cool thing would be the true single coil pickups in a humbucker size unit. The Phat Cat is close, but it's a P-90. I think the most popular SD single coils in a humbucker housing would be cool. I know I would get one.

I also like your idea of the medium gain PAF style pickup. A hot PG of some sorts.
