What's on Your Gas List?

Re: What's on Your Gas List?

Roman Quicksilver, korina body, flame maple top, natural gloss finish, ebony fretboard (no inlays), matching headstock, Tone Pros bridge, Duncan Black Backs... and a bucket for the drool please.

Re: What's on Your Gas List?

If the price isn't crazy I could actually ditch my entire board and rack and just use this + a wah. So it's possible GAS I guess.

Re: What's on Your Gas List?

Right now, my GAS list consists of rebuilding some current guitars that aren't in playable condition. Once that task is completed, I'm not sure... I'd like to get a nice 2x12 cabinet to match my Dual Showman head... and then maybe another head... although I'll probably put my ADA set-up back together first. I need to build a pedal-board too so I can play with the dozen or so pedals I have easily.

Guitar-wise: I'd like to try a Music Man Axis, a Charvel San Dimas tele, a Wolfgang USA FR and a Jackson USA Adrain Smith, and decide from there...

Re: What's on Your Gas List?

I want a Nash guitar.. or two.

Theres also one guitar you might not expect, a local Toronto guy uses one of these and I've had GAS for them ever since.

For the tones, I could really use one of these:

(Though I'd be willing to get a MXR Fet Driver too, as the prices are quite similar, and they are both modeling the same type of drive)

The next thing that I'm actually likely to buy is a small tube combo, just somethign that takes pedals well and can keep a fairly decent clean headroom for smaller gigs. I'm highly considering a Laney Cub amp as they are pretty cheap around here and sound nice and warm.

God I think I need some alone time to 'think' after looking this stuff up..

Re: What's on Your Gas List?

That Gretsch is interesting.

I'm GAS'ing for an F-hole. Either an EPI ES-339 Pro, or Dot, or a Peavey JF-1. Fortunately, my favorite local mom & pop music store has them all in stock, so I can go do a hands-on comparison. (But I gotta unload something first.) :D

For my Jax bro's, I'm talking about Kevin's Musician Superstore on Lenox.

Never heard of that one! thanks for the heads up!!

I dont need any guitars. (need to sell!!!) But, I found a custom shop charvel with a black flame maple top that Id LOVE to have. Also like to have a Gibby or edwards V. But thats just dreaming..

only GAS I have amp wise is a Friedman BE (dreaming) or an EVH 50 watt cuz of the tone and head phone feature.
There are a coupla pedals I want. Realistic goals.. haha

Re: What's on Your Gas List?

I agree with the ES-137, that florentine cutaway just looks absolutely gorgeous. On my GAS list are a few things I will mention some of them here...

Epiphone LP Traditional Pro
Epiphone Basher Les Paul (In bruise purple)
Ibanez RGD 321
Epi LP Chameleon Studio in teal/blue flip-flop
Fender Blacktop Tele/Strat CAR with maple fretboard
All new pedals/cables
A buyer for my Devlin Hellstrom so I can buy an Xaviere XV-500 in lemon drop or charcoal with a quilt maple top.
I currently have no GAS for amplifiers as I bought a Fender Frontman 25R last year and as a hobbyist it's way more amp than I need but my Pathfinder 15R was (I thought) in rough shape and on it's way out.

Re: What's on Your Gas List?

Now I'm brewing desire over the the Dave Murray Strat. That soft-v neck...

It bugs me that while the Dave Murray Strat is an interesting take on his original Strat, it isn't what he plays today (at least live) - which is equiped wth a Floyd.

Re: What's on Your Gas List?

Right now a Fender of some sort. My guitars are very much based on the Gibson way of doing things - 24.75" mahogany, mahogany/maple, humbuckers or P-90's and so on. After jamming with my uncle's band where I used his US strat I realised I was missing something big! Since then I have played various teles and strats and I am not sure which I would rather have as I have played examples of both that were great in their own ways.

Secondly I also recently played a Laney Lionheart 5w combo. Fell in love with the thing, so now I want to try a 20w. If anywhere near as good I might just pull the trigger on one.
