Seriously? I already recommended that this guy try the Seymour Duncan Distortion/'59 combo or the DiMarzio Super Distortion/PAF combo!

Again for the O.P.:

Randy Rhoads played with stock pickups in his Les Paul, a Dimarzio Super Distortion (bridge) and PAF (neck) in his polka-dot "V" and a Seymour Duncan JB (bridge) and Jazz (neck) in his Jackson V prototype.

Metallica is renowned for having used Invaders (and occassionally Distortion models) on their earliest stuff (before using EMG actives almost exclusively)


You're asking a lot from a single guitar and a single set of pickups, but the best balance between the 3 styles you are trying to accomplish are the pickups both myself and Binnerscot suggested.
