They're both a5 pickups. The Jazz n is 7.75K and the 59n is 7.43K...yet the Jazz is brighter and has more harmonics and has a little bit clearer tone than 59n. Do they use differant gauge or differant wire? Is the a5 magnet longer or shorter in one compared to the other? Are the adjustable polepieces differant in one? (Longer or shorter perhaps?)

Why do they sound "differant" from each other and why does the 7.75K Jazz have a more extended high end when being slightly hotter than the 7.43K 59n it should be slightly warmer and thicker sounding than the 59n?

my guess is that the jazz is wound using 43 gauge wire while the 59n is using 42 gauge wire. same magnets as far as i know

I always thought that the Jazz would be an underwound '59 - that's what i did read first, when i found a description of it.

the Jazz uses 43AWG poly wire(red) while the '59 use 42AWG plain enamel wire(dark reddish brown). one thing i notice though, the wire on the two coils on the '59 are slightly different in color(both the coils on a seth or ant have the same color)

Here is another question, Do you folks think a Jazz, Invader neck, Full Shred neck, and APH neck all use the same coils? I certainly do! Well, I wouldnt doubt it anyway!
