Whats the point of a bladed neck pickup?

I heard TO mention this in some other thread... anyone online now have any ideas on what the differences between a bladed neck pickup and a straight neck pickup are?

Im not sure exactly what you are reffering to, but either way id say that something like that would be to get a more even string response depending on how the strings are spaced at the neck on a particular guitar.

the string vibrates more as the neck so the blades cover all of the vibration.

Well, the angle is so that you get a lower, boomier bass, but a clearer treble. Is that what you were asking, why's it angled? And you use a railed pickup when it's angled because the string alignment wouldnt match up.
