what's this guy using...pedal wise!?

click on the link in my sig which will take you to "The Glorious Unseen" myspace page and listen to the song "Wrapped up in You"...

what efx do you guys think are being used on the guitar in that song...the ambient rolls he's doing are awesome sounding and i'd love to get that exact sound into my rig!!!

so what are we looking at here...delay, chorus, tremelo, phaser or flanger or what?! i mean i know he's using a combination of things...any ideas!?

Right from the beginning, that's heavy compression combined with delay, maybe some chorus, through a clean amp. I hear a phaser in there, too, adding a bit of a throaty sound that moves in and out.

sooo...i need to pick up say an MXR Dynacomp and a phaser of some sort...hmmm?

A DynaComp would probably do it - it's the classic. I've found the Boss CS-3 pretty good, too, but with four knobs, it's harder to dial in. It's better with the Allums Opto mod kit.

For a phaser, I say grab ErikH's EVH Phase 90 out of the Trading Post. I recently bought a regular Phase 90, but found it's not much good unless you mod it all to heck. I hear the EVH is pretty good without mods.

any other pedals out there you guys think it might be...or comprable pedals to the MXRs? what about the HBE stuff...they look good for the price point?!

It sounds like the phaser is after the delay, maybe even a studio effect that's inserted in the mixer. To get that clean sweep you don't want the delay bouncing the phaser around.

What I'd like to know is what OD he's using, and what Vox-family amp. That's very close to my desired worship team sound.

i just discovered them a little while ago and instantly loved it!

I've been emailing the lead singer back and forth. I got the chord charts for all his songs, I couldn't find them online. He's a cool guy. You should try emailing him about the effects.
