What's under the covers?

Is there a standard color for the colors on the covered pickups? I mean, are all the covered pickups zebra, black creme underneath or is it pretty much random?

Re: What's under the covers?

It's random. I have a Custom chrome cover pup with red coils underneath lol.

Really, that's pretty nuts :).

yeah lol. I think seymour makes some kind of green color pup too if I'm not mistaken. Evan would know.

Re: What's under the covers?

Well, I guess I can remove the covers on my 59s and hope for a couple of zebras.

Re: What's under the covers?

Cool, I'm pretty sure my JB & Jazz are black but I want to know for sure now! Might end up with one double cream and one red & green zebra or something equally crazy.

Re: What's under the covers?

I would assume black as they are the most common, so I can't see SD using less common colors that are just going to be covered anyways.

Re: What's under the covers?

On the Seth Lover and Antiquity humbuckers, it's either double-black, double-cream or zebra. You have about a one-in-three chance of catching any of those colors.

On all other humbuckers, it's supposed to be double-black. If anyone got something other than double-black, what can I say, you're special!

:)

Re: What's under the covers?

Loosely soldered, IIRC, is like a code term for double creams.
