whats ur thaughts on Laney VC-30

hey guys the easyest way to describe what im looking for is a darker more metal sound than a jcm 800. and combo like other guys in the forum. would a Laney VC-30 do the trick with some pedals?

I tried one of these in a store. They sound alot more like a Vox. They're really clean, so you'd definitly need pedals to get alot of gain. They sound real nice, but I don't really think this is the amp you should be looking at if you want a Marshall sound though. I'd recommend a Traynor YCV50. The crunch on it is fantastic. They go for around $600 or so and are a 1x12" 50 watt combo, with EL34's for power tubes.
