What's wrong with this cable?

Just bought a new cable from strings direct. A planet waves custom series. Basically I plugged it in and as I turn Ed up the volume on my guitar a horrible loud buzzing sound emerged. It was worst at about 75% volume on the guitar. And it totally ruins any notes coming through. It was plugged into my guitar and my distortion pedal. Is it faulty?

if it is plugged in all the way on both ends (planet waves sometimes seem to be have jacks that are a fraction of an inch thicker than normal) and the same setup works fine with other cables then yes, the cable has an issue
