Actually, they do have a Pro Reverb, but it's not a Reissue series, it's the Pro Tube Series, which are modern versions with more bells'n'whistles.

Don't underestimate the Pro Tube Series amps. Even though they're channel switching, they have a tone of great features and the gain channels are the best gain Fender has ever had.....even better than the Pro Sonic and Custom Shop.

I have an early 1968 Pro reverb. It has the drip edge, the thin black lines on the face plate & the black face circuit. I really love it. & since I like the aestetics of the silver face better than the b.f., I wouldn't trade it for a b.f.

Your amp is cool... Has the BF circuit but with different cosmetics...I Like the SF Fender also,providing it does have the BF layout...The Beatles used the SF combos on the "Let it be" sessions,so they have to be cool... :13: :dance:

I voted for the Deluxe Reverb but I also love the Vibrolux Reverb and Super Reverb. The DR is great because 9 times out of 10 anything else is just to loud to turn up to four or five and get a little overdrive. Seems like the DR is all I need most of the time...especially with a Strat or Tele or single coil pickups.

But when I do need something louder and cleaner, then I go to my Vibrolux Reverb.

The Super Reverb is the best of the three, IMO, with my humbucking pickup guitars. Humbuckers seem to need a more powerful amp than the Deluxe Reverb to prevent them from getting muddy.

So I'm going say: Deluxe Reverb or Vibrolux Reverb with single coils and Super Reverb with humbuckers are my favorite blackface amps.

too bad they only make a custom vibrolux that breaks up way too soon for my tastes, and has reverb on both channels and a background hiss.

meh, i have heard about problems with the pro tube series and their half power switches and stuff, and it costs more than the reissue twin. My only hope would have been a pro reverb priced 1000 or below like the twin, i dont mind the extra bells and whistles, but if i can get a twin for less, i might as well go for it.

None of the piggy back models are listed (Tremolux, Bandmaster, Bassman, Showman), but my favorite BF amp is my transitional BF/blonde Tremolux. It's the fattest and darkest sounding BF amp I've ever heard. Its sister is the Vibrolux Reverb 2x10 combo, so that gets my vote.
