What's your favorite "always on" pedal?

Re: What's your favorite "always on" pedal?

My G-Major 2 which is in my amps FX loop is my always on "pedal". I always have a bit of delay, reverb and some noise gate on. I never play fully dry, too damn boring.

I'm the same way. What's the point of effects if you aren't going to use them?

Re: What's your favorite "always on" pedal?

Three candidates (not exclusive):
Xotic EP Booster
Mesa Boogie Tone Burster
Decibel+

I'm nowadays working with Decibel+ and Mesa Boogie Tone Burster. Best clean ever (together with strymon El Capistan).
I've been looking at the EP Booster and the Tone Burst. How do you use the TB, as a clean boost or some added dirt?

Been using this as an always on overdrive lately:

I never have any pedals on indefinitely but I think I turn on my wah a little more than I should.

I'm a bit of a wah addict too. If I was only allowed one pedal I'd have a real hard time deciding between wah and delay. Guitar playing is much less fun without them.

I find that my wah just gives anther dimension to what I'm doing. My right hand determines the dynamics, the left hand chooses the melody and expresses some of the emotion and the wah just turns it into a much more expressive thing.

nowadays, whenever I play guitar, my Ibanez PUE5 Tube's always on…great OD, great distortion, awesome delay….great mini tubed multi-effect !
as for my bass rig, I'm kinda hooked on my Fender Blender…looooooooove that dirty fuzz !

Just as a clean boost. For crunch, I use the Grid Slammer and, for more gain the Flux Drive.
I am finding the Tone Burst doing same awesome job as the Xotic Booster but, even better, with a a greater control over treble/bass contents.

How are those pedals?

When the deltalabs pedals first came out I really dug their "green" od clone. I love cheap stuff that rocks.

If you don't mind cheap Chinese clones, you can't go wrong with Joyo or Biyang.

Re: What's your favorite "always on" pedal?

^ Love that ABY.

Thank you very much :D
Love that RE-20 of yours.

Oh yeah. That one is ALWAYS on. So is another switcher...I have two amps on the "A" channel.

Funny that you would mention that GuitarDoc.
I am seriously looking into a 3rd amp, to make it a 3some.

Marshall Vintage Modern, or Mesa Electra Dyne.

The problem is not even the funds.
It is deciding which amp will suit me 'better'.

Re: What's your favorite "always on" pedal?

I have two pedals that are 'always on', and I always have at least one of them running. It's either my Soul Food or my clone of a Diamond Compressor. Different songs call for different characters on the clean sound, but one of them is almost always on.

When I'm playing solo gigs, my Holy Grail Nano is always on, and I'm currently in the market to up my ambient reverb game.
