Get on stage with a Les Paul and unleash waves of unholy plinking sounds with your unplugged axe. :laugh2:
Seriously though, I could plug a $12,000 Slash Sig Les Paul into a 15w Marshall MG and be drown out by the broad in the audience with the hidiously loud laugh.
Conversly, I could plug one of those WalMart kiddy guitars into a good amp and bury it in enough gain that it'd probably start sounding pretty good if all you do is power chords.
I also know some people who only use a guitar as a tone generator (kinda like a synth, but with more charictor). To them, their effects are more important to the music they make than the guitar.
In a few years I have changed all my gear around me (except for my trusty JHS Cry Baby) It sounded me before and sounds me now no matter what and how radically I changed. In the personality vs instrument game I would say personality, all the way.
Guitar. I practise alot unplugged, and without the guitar your left with a useless speaker and some door stops. In the end, with a solid body u wont go far without a guitar and amp when playing live or watever.
