What's Your Most Played Amplifier?

Re: What's Your Most Played Amplifier?

The #1 guitar amp is a '78 50w MV Marshall. It's a whole lot of rock in one place. The cab is a '77 and that's an '81 50w MV Park on top.

Re: What's Your Most Played Amplifier?

My most played amp is not necessarily my favorite. I have an early 60's GA-30 Gibson Invader that has the sweetest overdrive when I crank it. Its too loud for most of the stuff I do, but its great for gigs. I also have some champs that sound great cranked. But most of the time I'm using my Tech 21 Trademark 10. A great little amp and it has a delicious sounding spring reverb -- which is worth the price alone for one of these things!

Re: What's Your Most Played Amplifier?

I have many different amps... Oddly my most used amp is a solid state Fender practice amp...... I have a 5150 stack that i did use for gigging... I just got a JCM 800 head... A Peavey Classic 50 head, a Peavey Classic 30 combo i use for band practice and jams a lot as it is so easy to carry but loud! At home i have a 40 year old Fender Deluxe non-Reverb amp... I also have a cheap Berhinger amp, a Line 6 pod set up....

Oddly that little cheap ass Fender Princton Chorus i play thru at home every day.... It is not the best sounding amp but it is OK for practices at really low volume...

Most Played: Hughes&Kettner Attax 80.. Great amp for home practice or sessions where you´re not too sure what to expect, and easily loud enough to work at a small gig in a pinch

Favorite Amp: See signature

Honorable mention in both categories: My Marshall 2204 (JCM800, Single ch., vert. input, 50W)... needs a rebiasing and a general checkup...

Funky SIde Note: I Also have a Marshall MS-4 mini Fullstack (9v, 1W), and I´ve actually used it for recording before :saeek:

Come to think of it, I ´ve used ALL of them to record something or other at some point in time, although the Marshall and Mesa are the ones responsible for the forthcoming album :D:D

either my behringer v-ampire, or my friends crate amp thats at my house.

Re: What's Your Most Played Amplifier?

It has to me my Soldano SLO 100. I've had it for over 10 years now, and it is the best sounding amp I've ever played. But my Hughes & Kettner Tube 20 is my practice amp, so it gets a lot of use as well.

Re: What's Your Most Played Amplifier?

Tattoo, that's killer how you 'Bognerized' the Mesa cab. I'm sure that rig does great justice to all your guitars!

Re: What's Your Most Played Amplifier?

I "Bognerized" my Marshall 4x12 with the Marshall Cane basketweave grillcloth. If and when I decide on my next amp, and it's a Bogner, it will already match.

Re: What's Your Most Played Amplifier?

I definitely play them both equally...but since I've had both of them combined maybe a month...I'd say both of them :)

JCM 800 2204. Been playing it over 25 years. Also play a '59 Fender Bandmaster a lot.

What makes the Marshall my most played amp? One word, "balls."

I bought a early 80's 50watt 800 last winter.. it needs help and work but once it is working better and been tweeked out i can see it becoming my number one amp... It has a nice bottom end to it!

Re: What's Your Most Played Amplifier?

I mostly use my Fender BLues DeVille for giging and practice. It has great clean tones for jazz and light distortion for blues. The only other amp I own is a 15watt crate amp. Witch I mostly use for a practice amp while traveling.

Re: What's Your Most Played Amplifier?

When volume limited, it's my MicroCube. When it's serious, it's my Two Rock.

Re: What's Your Most Played Amplifier?

Right now it's my Matchless SC-30. But I also love my '51 Fender Super and my '58 Fender Deluxe and my '66 Deluxe Reverb. I tend to like amps that are under 30 watts when I play my Fender Strats and Teles with single coils and my amps that are 30 watts or more (like my Matchless or Fender Vibrolux or Super Reverb) when I play my guitars with humbuckers.
