When and Why P-90 Pickups?

Re: When and Why P-90 Pickups?

I like how that cut and they can still be used used massive amounts of distortion, still clear in tone. I'm getting a lp w/p90s so I get that sound, can't wait till get power of p90s.

ah! Dont forget Live At Leeds!

i love P90s

Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! I gotsta know...is all or part of "Live at Leeds" done with P90's?. I love that record. Lots of (non-guitar) people may not understand the absolute power that roars from that recording...the vinyl record even kicked ass!

As far as my own observations, the most crunchy/modern tone I have ever seen with P90's has been from the Corrosion of Conformity DVD "Live Volume" from the "Americas Volume Dealer" era. Mesa Boogie .50 calibers and Pepper Keenan's drive on his ESP SG(with some sort of different LTD headstock logo) still sounds expressive on "Albatross" and other tunes.

People don't seem to understand that record because it isn't so thick an in your face sounding as other recordings. My advice is to turn it up really loud through nice speakers. They captured a magic vibe on the Live at Leeds recording, and it will kick your ass.
