I have ben GASing for a Pro Mod forever. Finally have the cash in hand only to realize the new
Pro Mods have flatsawn necks instead of quartersawn. When did that start? If anyone knows the year thar would sure help as I now gotta shop used...

Not that flat sawn is the end of the world, but the MIA and MIJ Pro Mods have quarter sawn necks.

I did not know the MIM were flat sawn.

I'm sure it doesn't NEED to be quartersawn - especially not when you have graphite reinforcement rods. It is probably just a cosmetic thing, but it makes the guitar seem more high-end.

The silent change to flatsawn makes me think they're cheaping out on materials. Come to think of it, they probably are. Typical FMIC beancounting I suppose - raise prices, lower quality.

MiM had quartersawn up until the current run where they got the six pack of sound, heel truss rod adjustment cut etc. Anything pre 2016 line should be QS.

Sweet! Thanks for helping me know what to look for.
