When you came here...

Ok...this should be fun! This forum is a great place to be and you guys (and girls) are all my friends, but this place is pretty damn bad for GAS!!!

What all kind of gear have you gathered up since comming to the SD Forum? Also, what was your original reason for comming here?

Let's see what happens to people after becoming regulars at the Duncan Forum!

Re: When you came here...

i've never bought anything from GAS that i got while i was here, but currently i have GAS for a red/black zerba tb-6 that (hopefully) will be ordered soon. I came here to learn more about pickups and guitars in general.

Re: When you came here...

eh~ im still quite a bit new here, but i cant say ive aquired anything that influence from the forumites caused me to get.

I've played les pauls ( way too short / heavy )

ive played strats ( VERY uncomfortable )

and i pretty much dont think ill ever be buying either...SO...

seeing all the pictures of les pauls + strats + copys kinda gives me something to " haha " instead of " oooo ahhh " at =)

**edit**

i came here to learn pretty much as much as i can about pickups cause i think they're a pretty important part of the whole rig. plus being new to guitar and not very social in person, an online archive of guitar knowledge and other forumites suited me pretty well =)

Re: When you came here...

I originally came here when I was researching which Duncan's to get for my LP. Since then I have gone through several Duncan models fueled by GAS I have received by many talking about the tone they've received with varying SD's. All of my other purchases were fueled by GAS from other forums.

Re: When you came here...

I came here to find out about SD pickups as I was looking to buy my Legacy, and wanted to know about the SSL-1's. Due to advice of you fine people, I went ahead and stuck a Twangbanger in the bridge. I don't think I've ever been so happy with the way any guitar of mine has played and sounded. Trouble is I've got GAS so bad it hurts. Maybe I'll sell 1 of the kids............... :naughty: :scratchch

Re: When you came here...

I first came when I was researching what pickups to put in my HSS strat. Since then I have gotten 3 duncan pickups, a fender blues junior, and a maxon overdrive, with all the purchases based pretty much on the comments from the forum. Stop telling me about all this good gear! I don't have the funds to support my wants.

Re: When you came here...

I stumbled upon this forum looking for scematics to mod my Strat, from a Texas Special to a single hum/1 vol/1 tone config. Well I did it, sold it, and bought about about seven different guitars since then. I still have three. I also have a box full of used Duncans I may never use and a girlfriend who rolls her eyes everytime I'm here. Thanks guys!

Anytime bro!!!

Re: When you came here...

I honestly can´t remember why I originally came here....

I do know that I had less guitars in total back then, though.

Oh and I was proud NOT to have a rack but be a pure Guiitar-> amp ->speaker player, but that seems to be slowly changing, kind of a step back for me :laugh2::laugh2:

Hey Bro!, what's up.......

I'm afraid I still have almost exactly the same setup I've had since '89.....(new strings of course!).....my only GAS has been more of almost exactly the same gear I already have......guess I'm more of a "if it ain't broke" kinda guy!

Re: When you came here...

i came here to look for a bridge pup upgrade for my yamaha pacifica.

wasnt too long ago. just a few months. heheh.

Re: When you came here...

Gear that I have aquired directly due to info that I've gotten here on the forum have been a C5(couple of them in fact), Jazz, Antiquity HB, Broadcaster, and Vox Valvetronics head. There is always going to be GAS for other things and sharing here on the forum will always add fuel to the fire. I'm sure that there is much more to come for me in the future.

Ryan...Have you gotten that FMT Tele yet?

Re: When you came here...

I joined here because Fretfire said it was better forum than alot of other ones out there *cough*gcom*cough*

I've acquired, sold, acquired several things since I've joined here. The main thing I'm gassing for right now is an ADA MP1 and a tube amp kit to build!

I'll always crave the Kramer guitar though...

Re: When you came here...

Hey Christian,

It's supposed to be here on Tuesday.......I'm seriously getting itchy! Especially since my Standard Tele is torn apart on the bench awaiting pups(In the mail) and the Agile has a crapped out brand new vol pot(also in the mail). My only saving grace for playing is my ancient old Ovation solid body that has Youngpup's '59n in the bridge for a test bed. It REALLY sounds good! I'm wondering how much better the '59b would sound now. More GAS! I also have YP's Seth bridge just sitting there looking lonely.

Re: When you came here...

i stumbled upon this place while surfing the SD site for pups for my strat and tele,

I sold both of them off and got on the warmoth bandwagon after that with my "ghost" strat and "banshee" tele :laugh2:

Re: When you came here...

I came here to solicit some help with a question that couldn't be answered on the ESP forum (aka, the Hetfield/Hammet Butt Licking Club).

Hmmm, since I came on board, I don't think I've acquired anything new ... built a new guitar and recorded an album. :)
