Where can i get a good pickguard for my squire 51?

Im trying to convert this $150 guitar into something really nice. And i noticed the pickguard looks like someone took a dremel tool to a 51 bass pickguard and didnt even make nice smooth bevels.

Where could i get like a 3ply nice one (White with a black line around the edge)?

You can trace out the one you have. I think a nice pickgaurd would
help dress it up

Yea, its like the tele bass, But i'd need to match up a real tele bass pickguard to make sure.

This pickguard is a 1 ply solid white with rotar tool burnmark edging. lol

Sence this will be a blues guitar, i think a mirrior pickguard would look amazing.

The tracing sounds like what ill end up doing, but 1 concern.
Heh it wasnt cut very well and some areas are to thin and some are to wide.
Dont ya love squire? hahaha

http://www.terrapinguitars.com/ is a great place to find pickguards for you guitars . . . I got a new pickguard for my dot there, and I'm very happy with it . . . they can also custom make pretty much anything that you want, so you might want to check there too

When I worked for Guitar Center occasionally I'd get a customer asking for an unusual pickguard shape or unusual material... Chandler always came through with a custom pickguard.

The problem being is, the factory pickguard does not match the guitar very well.

How on earth could i trace it, if the factory one isnt right?

Get a pencil and a peice of construction paper and trace it. The you can make the changes and cuts you want by drawing them in with a different colored pencil. Chandler recommended this method to me once for a customer who wanted to work with them directly.

Contact chandler. They have always come through for me with weird requests. Their website is listed in my previous post. Email or call them for specific help.

I emailed them, the cost is starting to worry me.

When im buying squiers for project guitars, you already know im on a limited budget .

Man, im not sure how to make thies tracing changes.
Im horrible drawing or anything.
It'd help alot if there was a place nearby that would look at the guitar and make one to fit.


Unless you have a very creative ideal on how to draw the pickguard out?

Remove the pickguard and the components in it (no desoldering will be needed) so you can lay it down flat on a peice of paper.

Lay it down flat on a large peice of construction paper and trace the outer edge with a pencil.

Now with this outline, you can draw in any changes to the outline you'd like. Use a ruler or a protractor if you like.

There. You've just made a pickguard tracing. Geddit?
