Local shops. I would rather support local business owners who give me great service than giant online retailers that don't care.

A local builder assembles and sets up my projects.
He's also an Allparts dealer, so I order a lot of parts from him. Since Allparts carries Fender parts now, I can get most of the things I need.

Incidently, Allparts listed prices are full retail. If you go through a dealer, you should get a decent discount.

Depending on what I need, I sometimes order custom parts from Callaham.

Same place i get my lessons lol. That place has part everywhere and its only 20 minutes from my house, plus I get knobs and small things for free most of the time . But i just got a new trem arm for my floyd from stewmac. it should be in tommorw then ill thorw some pictures up of my finished evh project

I usually go through the bassist in the band since he runs the Conroe sister store of the shop I worked at. Pretty decent discounts too, since I get 'em at employee pricing and all.

Local shops that have gibson parts. I have ordered some stuff from musicians friend and warmoth though

im in PR, and the local shops suck.

all they have is dimarzio and stuff and well... they dont got what I want.

I'm guessing im going to buy allparts online..

Find an allparts dealer. You can get a decent discount instead of ordering from allparts directly.

I've used StewMac before. That's where I got my H/H Pickguard. I also found out I'm getting a build-your-own-ukelele for Christmas from them. Cause I just couldn't resist a peek...

shopping for the stuff i want in tampa was a nightmare: can you believe sam ash and guitar center didnt have the tele pickguard i wanted? they didnt have the knobs either...

I'm just going to have to order online.

What I'm looking for is basic:

a black 3 ply tele guard and a set of mustang knobs (jazz bass style knobs that fit knurled shafts, not flush ones, where you need a screw).

where could I find thse things online?

lol that's awesome that's the first time i've seen that.


I either go to local shop or usualy they will fail at getting some specific parts and so i have to resort to ebay or other online services.. we got 3 major stores here in montreal but when it comes to getting specifics they seem to not want to bother and often just direct you to the net or try to sell you a cheaper liscensed part isntead of the one you want... so i prefer to find the stuff myself.

If I'm just buying pots or knobs, I go guitarfetish because they are decent quality and are fairly cheap...bigger stuff I go with whatever is least expensive.

I've gotten knobs and stuff from Guitarpartsdepot.com. For tools and stuff i've gone through Stewmac.com
