Re: Where have all the trem covers gone....
Ps,
Dale remember the Vivian 1984 tone you are chasing? 8-38's my good man.
Nope. Skintight red outfits, no trem. cover, and different picks!!! LOL!!!
Don’t have to chase no more either i.e. my black “JackVader” got plenty Vivian 1984 tone!!! LOL!!!
Nah look. I’ve always been one of those people that likes to have everything standardised and the same “across the board” and everything uniform. Thanks to these forums, and you guys, and a fair amount of mucking about I now believe that when it comes to guitars it’s an excercise in futility and is counterproductive when it comes to playability and tone quality. Some guitars just do not “like” or suit a particular setup EVEN guitars from the same factory and identical model or range. Here I’m referring to pickups, strings, and the like. It is what it is. And fortunately for me I’ve managed to put aside my APPARENT OCD (LOL!!!) and would rather have three different guitars each of which has their own unique feel and tone as opposed to having three different guitars that all “conform” but play and sound like crap.
Because of the shorter scale length of the Blaze I was told that ‘10’s would brighten it up and tighten it up. But it felt terrible to play. I think the distance between frets had something to do with this. That’s why I asked you about your Nightswan above. But I can imagine that 8’s on the shorter scale length would be nice. But nah. I’ve finally gotten over myself and stopped tweaking and mucking about, have three great guitars, and am now actually playing them (well other than the little “slump” I’m currently experiencing which you know about). Nice place to be and about time too!!! LOL!!!
And P.S.
The white Viv. Charvel, I was told anyway, had 10’s.
Oh and P.P.S.
You seen the new Marshall Studio amps.??? There’s a JCM 800 combo in the lineup and x 2 of them would sure do me, and my Viv. 1984 tone, great!!! LOL!!! Guess it will take some many months for them to arrive here but I’ll be ready!!! LOL!!!
