Which amp would give me a clean like this?

As many of you know, I'm getting an electric ukulele for christmas, and since I never really use the amps I have, because they're too loud, and don't have clean channels, I would need a new amp for this. I would prefer a small tube amp, but I am willing to look at alternatives if I can be convinced that they are just as good as a good tube amp. I do not really have any musicstore near where I live, so I don't really have the possibility to try stuff out.

I wouldn't exactly mind a good overdrive either, if the amps you suggest has it.

I don't know anything about ukes, or whether an amp with a good strat clean will work for a uke clean. That being said, I really like the cleans from the clip of a Hughes and Kettner edition blue.

I believe that ArtieToo has the 60 watt version, so maybe you could ask him about it if you're interested. Or better yet, go play one.

That does sound pretty good. I think a good strat clean would work fine for this kind of uke. It's semi hollow, soprano sized, and has a very low resistance Kent Armstrong lipstick pickup (about 4,9k). This is the pickup: http://www.wdmusic.com/mini_split_tube_trade_pickup_30821_prd1.htm

This is the uke, almost Strat like, isn't it?

Perhaps I should add that I don't really mind what the wattage is, if it's a SS/digital amp, it doesn't matter if it has alot of watts, it's only if it's tube it matters, because as you know, you can't just crank a loud tube amp.

Actually, I just tried playing it today, both through my little SS Marshall, my toneport and the Laney.

It's obviously VERY low output, because I need to crank the headphone volume on the toneport before I feel it's moderate volume, and the little 10 watt SS marshall, which I can normally leave at half or under half for decent volume when using a guitar, needed to be cranked totally, and then the volume was still only decent. Through the Laney it sounded like crap, because the Laney doesn't have a clean channel of course, but the point was, that I was able to turn it up too, without it getting too loud, in contrast to when playing a guitar through it, then it's ****ing L-O-U-D. I guess the conclusion is, that the amp obviously has to be bigger than what I thought at first, because I would need alot of headroom.

I was also thinking, that since my Laney can be used as a "slave", doesn't that mean I could plug a pre-amp into it, and only use it as a power amp? That would give me even more possibilities, I guess.
