Hi, recently I got a new guitar and did a major upgrade in my old Strat so now came the time for a new amp.
Currently I have the Line 6 Spider II 30, which means I don't have an amp :9:
What I'm aiming at is an amp that does a cool blues and a wicked jazz but its' primary function would be a warm 80s Rock/Metal tone.
I'm talking AOR, Glam, traditional Heavy, classic Heavy/Power. The gained/overdriven channel should deliver a good warm crunchy yet muscular tone. Not the mid heavy Thrash/Death and whatnot stuff.
As for the price, I can't really give a definite answer on that, I don't want to miss getting EXACTLY what I want for a couple of hundreds. Just keep in mind that it will be almost exclusively for home use and that the price should be down to earth.
A couple that I got to hear but not yet played with my own axes and liked enough were B-52's AT-112 and Randall's RG50T. The B-52 was better overall but the Randal seemed designed exactly for what I was looking for (plus it was 150 euros cheaper).
Although they both are all tube amps I'm not necessarily looking for a tube, if an analog with transistors would fit the bill I'd be cool with that too.
Thanks!
EDIT: To clarify. Shape/size wise just a 20x20" (roughly 50x50 cm, or a little larger ) combo amp is fine! Remember it will go in my room and the line 6 (it has a 12" speaker) barely fits as it is!
It doesn't have to be a head and cabin, it doesn't HAVE to be tube, it just has to have a good warm 80s tone and be mostly space conscious. but it has to have a "real" sounding good warm tone, not the digital mid heavy tone the Line 6 has.
Take the B-52 and the Randal I mentioned for instance, size wise they're all I want!
