Call Peavey Customer Service or shoot them an email, they're excellent. You might even check on their forum.

Good idea. I'll do it as soon as I get home. Can't seem to get in from work.

Re: Which color Peavey?

Those look nice, and the price isn't bad (at my local shop). On question though, is the bridge standard Tele-sized? If I got one, I'd want a real live tele pickup at the bridge, everything else is pretty cool on it though. It's like a Fender Nashville at a 40% discount. Too cool. :)

Re: Which color Peavey?

I'd say go sunburst, and put on a pearloid or tortoiseshell pickguard, and if you want the piezo option later on, add a GraphTech GHOST system and put the controls for it on the standard control plate. I definitely agree that Peavey seems to have randomly put controls all over the face of their "ACM" model.

Re: Which color Peavey?

I want to thank everybody for taking the time to vote, and more importantly, to comment. I hope I don't upset the voters by saying that I just ordered the Black one.

It was Wattage's fault. The comment about the pearloid pickguard put me over the top. I think its going to look so cool with a red tortoise pearloid pickguard.

I'll post pics and clips when it comes in.

Thanks again all.

Artie

BTW - The dealer gave me a killer price - $168.00 :32:

Heh-heh . . . thats cool. The main reason I like Peavey's, is the necks fit my hand perfectly. PLus, they seem to have a great cost-to-value ratio.

But . . . to each his own. ;)

I keep seeing things about the Wolfgang. I'm going to have to check one of those out someday.

BTW - The purchase of this "Generation" constitutes my last "cheap" guitar. I have enough inexpensive guitars laying around now to satisfy the simple "fun" that comes from having options. My next guitar-related purchase will be an honest-to-goodness tube amp. But thats a whole 'nother thread. ;)

(heh - it only takes two more "black" votes and I won't have defied my voters.) :laugh2:

Re: Which color Peavey?

You know, a 'cheap' guitar can go a long way. I've got several $1000+ guitars, but when it comes time to jam, I pull out my $125 Samick Radio 10 that I bought off of eBay a few years ago. It's got a dead on setup and sounds good with the stock Duncan designed pups. It'd be my main guitar if it weren't from my other 'cheap' guitar. A Samick TV 20 loaded with Blues Trembuckers. I got it for right around $200.

However, I've got a few Wolfgangs also, and yes, you should check one out some day. The USA made models have probably the nicest neck of any guitar I've ever played. A USA Custom Genny is my current lust though.

Good Choice!! Let me know how ya like it!! Im really tempted to get a Peavy
Predator Plus HB. Wish I knew what the neck is like on those.

Thanks. You can always cruise over to The Music Man on Ramona, at Lane and I-295, and try one out.

Or better yet, when I get mine, you can come over and check it out. Most of the Peavey's I've played had similiar necks. I like 'em. (Obviously.) ;)

BTW - The guys at The Music Man are pretty cool. When you first walk in, it looks like a smaller version of GC, or George's Music, but the guys in there really know their stuff, and they're real friendly and helpful. Don't pay attention to the price they have marked on a guitar. They'll always come down to below Musician's Friend prices just by asking. They quoted me $250 for the Peavey JF-1. Thats 50 below MF's price.

I always thought a black tele with a mirror pickguard would be sexy. Both are nice but id go with black personally. Oh today i saw a gorgeous tele. Im guessing it was ash, could see the grain. Was a nice creamy colour and what looked like a birdeye maple neck. Sweet:)
