Which EL34's have the sweetest tone and mids without the ROCK HARSHNESS?

Something that doesn't blow the doors off but still has all the good stuff. Something sweet and psongy, with good definition. Does this exist?

Seimens do this better than just about any I have heard. Warm, round. In the right amp they are just beautiful, not as much forward crunch and are a little bit darker in their voice. On the new side of things, I have a set of Harmas that sound great. More open and rounder on the treble side of things.

Most of the unpleasantness in EL34's that you speak of come from the amp or the speakers.

Sovtek's are brittle, worn tubes can get brittle, but most of the others are warmer.

E34L's were designed to provide more headroom and have a stronger bass.

I would go that route and go to a warmer speaker.

I don't agree with this statement....Your statement describes the 6L6 tube...An EL34 wants to compress and bring the mids out quicker and alot of it is because of it's thinner and taller shape....

The 6L6 is rounder,fuller and throatier sounding and offers more clean headroom in the same amp by comparison to the EL34s...Both tubes offer good bass however.

I use 2 cabs....1 is a Marshall Vintage 4x12 with V30s and the second is a Vox 2x12 with V30s....I use either or depending....

I have TESLA's
they are pure old school Marshall tone,thick, decent top, robust in the mids, solid but not too tight in the bass.

I'm using Original 90's Svetlana's right now though. They are closer to Siemens by my ear. I'm hoping to run across some Siemens NOS before these start going south.

That's exactly what I have currently in my Marshall(The first generation Svetlana EL34s).....I also bought a #6 set of GT EL34LS tubes,but I can't bring myself to replacing these Svets just yet...
