Which Fender has the best reverb? Vibrolux/PR/DR?

Looking to rekindle an old flame here...Of these 3 amps, which has the least-springy, most room-filling reverb for house volumes (not that low btw).

I've been listening to a bunch of old rockabilly/surf stuff and want to recapture the strat+BF reverb sound, but don't want a boingy/springy reverb.

Fire away-

All 3 use the same reverb tank (4AB3C1B) which is a long delay, 2 spring tank. If you change to a (9AB2C1B) which is a medium delay, 3 spring tank, your reverb will be less springy and have a touch more depth.

All three amps on your list have equivelent reverb in stock form.

thats exactly what i did in my reverb tank

Re: Which Fender has the best reverb? Vibrolux/PR/DR?

The stand-alone tank is the schniz for that tone...the stock amp 'verb doesn't get the drip.

Pretty Much all Fender BF/SF amps have the same exact Reverb circuit . So it comes down to the Tank specs. And the amount of air/power you need to fill a room. For instants... I had a SF Twin (That had D!ck Dale approved verb) I swapped the tank out of the Twin and put it in my Princeton. No noticeable difference? In either amp?

Re: Which Fender has the best reverb? Vibrolux/PR/DR?

These guys are right...those amps all have the same reverb but for the tones you're looking for a stand alone tank is the ticket...

For alternatives, go check out some of the threads on surfguitar101.com
The Van Amps reverb and a few other things are pretty good, but after trying just about everything else, I ended up with a '64 BF tank again. Nothing beats it...

i've always wanted one of those Fender stand alone Reverbs for me 65 Non-Reverb Deluxe amp... love that amp but Reverb would be nice!!!
